A sofa sits at the heart of a home, but it takes every element of the space, from accessories to decor, to bring a room together. Designed with architect and TV presenter George Clarke, our Midland Hill and Brantwood sofas offer stunning style and amazing comfort, and we worked with Ideal Home magazine to bring these sofas to life in beautifully designed room sets. Here’s how we styled it.

Midland Hill

The Midland Hill sofa is classic and stylish – inspired by decadent Art Deco architecture. The arms feature a tight radius curve and are accented with horizontal lines, with the trim detail adding an opulent touch. For George, this sofa “just clicked, in terms of the look, the feel and the style… it’s one of those sofas that came together so well.”

For this look, the aim was to achieve a ‘grown up’ aesthetic that’s smart and sophisticated, with the Art Deco vibe being the starting point for the space. The luxurious chenille fabric in the timeless navy shade contrasts beautifully with the gold feet and trim, and this contrast is continued across accessories and tables in the space. Using curved tables highlights the curvaceous elements of the sofa, and contrast fabric shades will add extra intrigue to your space.

A stand out honey shade was chosen on the armchair in this room, but a classic colour like navy is really versatile and works with a lot of accent shades, so feel free to go ‘off piste’ with your palette and make it your own. Use cushions with statement prints and fringes to complete the look – these will add personality and that ‘wow factor’ to your sofa.

Brantwood

Continuing the Art Deco inspiration, the Brantwood holds simplicity and elegance at its heart, being understated in all the right ways. It’s a deep-cushioned sofa that offers comfort you won’t want to leave, and this depth makes it feel grand in almost any space. The architectural touch of timber up the sides of the arms works in harmony with the vertical stitching details, for a contemporary look that is reminiscent of its Art Deco roots. George believes that “when you’re in your home you want [your sofa] to be comfortable and cosy, but beautiful as well, as that’s what the Brantwood is all about.”

The room set for the Brantwood was designed to be a welcoming, family friendly space. A palette of warm colours was chosen to give the room a relaxing, inviting feel, with a blush pink sofa shade accented with burnt orange and burgundy aesthetics offering a fresh, modern aesthetic.

This look is fully ‘modern boho’ – laid back and relaxed, the sofa and footstool are teamed with accents that have an industrial vibe. The simple, clean lines of the metal-framed table with wooden top gives a contemporary look and complements the wooden accents on the sofa. With this room focusing on comfort, the footstool was the right choice to give people a place to stretch out in unrivalled comfort whilst leaning into feather-filled back cushions. Choose the grande size on the Brantwood sofa and enjoy plenty of room for the whole family to relax.
