With a crispness in the air and darker evenings upon us, Christmas is just around the corner and now is the perfect time to get your home ready for the festive season! Here are some of my favourite ways to add some festive cheer to your home:

Show Stopping Tree

The most traditional way to make your home feel festive is to invest some time in creating an impressive eye-catching tree, go for the biggest sized tree your room will take and cover it with beautiful baubles and ribbons.

Fairy Lights

String fairy lights around mirrors, windows, tables, beds or anywhere you fancy to create an instant cosy glow. There’s just something about twinkly fairy lights that puts me in the Christmas spirit – especially when all the other lights are turned off!

Drink Station

‘Tis the season to be merry, so create a little drink corner with your favourite tipples or even a hot chocolate making station! Use decorative glass jars to display marshmallows and cocoa powder or cocktail accessories to add the perfect entertaining focal point.

Wreaths

Hang a wintry wreath on your front door, over a mirror or use one as a table centrepiece with a candle inside for eye-catching festive decor. You could even try your hand at making your own from a basic wreath and lots of baubles, ribbons and artificial snow to tailor it to your own taste.

Cosy Blankets

Layer up blankets in different colours and textures to add warmth to your home; not only do they look cosy but they’re perfect for curling up on the sofa with in front of a Christmas film. Drape them over sofas, beds, footstools or even use under your tree as a tree skirt!

Artificial Snow

Let your imagination run wild with artificial snow, spray it on windows with snowflake stencils, create footprints on the floor to pretend Santa’s been by or sprinkle it over trees or garlands to create a flocked look.

Edible Decorations

The festive season is all about indulgence so add edible decorations to your decor for a fun touch – think candy canes as baubles, tree shaped jars filled with sweets or cake pops as place settings.

Decorate Your Fireplace

Roaring fires can’t be beaten when it comes to adding festivity to your home; make your fire the focal point of the room by adding a decorative garland, some nutcrackers or stockings.

Baubles

String baubles on varying lengths of ribbon in the window, add them to garland displays or fill a bowl/jar with them to create a festive display.

Bedroom Décor

Add a touch of cosiness to your bedroom with wintry cushions, ornaments and throws to create a festive slumber zone.

Hope you all have a fantastic festive season!

Lots of love
