At Sofology it’s no secret that we love pets. Our research has shown that 49% of millennials say that pets are what makes their house feel like home – and it’s easy to see why. Being greeted by your favourite furry friend when you walk through the door is guaranteed to make coming home feel special.
Every dog deserves to feel at home on a sofa they love
For National Pet Month, we’ve partnered with Dogs Trust, the UK’s largest dog welfare charity, because every dog deserves to feel at home on a sofa they love. In Dogs Trust rehoming centres all around the country there are pooches of all ages with plenty of love to give. We welcomed a few into our head office for the day so we could get to know the loveable characters and learn more about why everyone should #adoptdontshop.
Breed: A Crossbreed Age: 5 to 7 Years Sex: Female
Akita cross Asher is laid back and sweet tempered. She’s independent but loves to meet new people and other dogs when she’s out for a walk. She loves her treats, which means it’s super easy to get her to sit and teach her new things. Calm and relaxed, she loves cuddles and will happily curl up next to you, especially as her favourite thing is having company and receiving lots of attention! Asher deserves to be spoilt and needs a home where she’ll be the only dog. She’s happy to socialise with other dogs when she’s out and about and she can live with children over 11 years old.
Breed: Crossbreed Age: 5 to 7 Years Sex: Female
Myshka is a 7 year old crossbreed whose favourite activity is meeting new people. She adores human company and loves to sit and cuddle. Myshka loves her toys – especially anything that squeaks! She needs a little bit of training but she loves food so she’ll learn quickly with treats as rewards. The perfect home for this friendly pooch will ideally be adult only, with no other dogs. Myshka is happy to walk with other dogs but prefers to be around dogs that keep their distance. She’d like a home with a big, enclosed garden as she loves to play and run around off the lead.
Breed: Jack Russell Terrier (JRT) Age: 2 to 5 Years Sex: Male
Pocket rocket Toby is a bundle of energy. If you love to be active and head out on adventures, he’s ready to be your new best friend. At just 2 years old, Toby still has a lot to learn but he enjoys training and will work for treats. He’s still getting to grips with his training and learning how to politely say hello, so would benefit from ongoing support. With some time to settle in and lots of TLC we’re sure he’ll thrive. He loves to play, and he’s super intelligent with a lot of love to give. He can live with children aged 11 or over and he’d love a big, secure garden where he can run off all his extra energy.
Breed: Greyhound Age: 2 to 5 Years Sex: Female
It’s impossible not to fall in love with Greyhound Faith. Sweet and gentle by nature, she’s a couch potato who just wants to sit and snuggle on the sofa with you. It takes her a little while to come out of her shell, but she’s full of character when she does. Faith loves zooming around with her squeaky toys, enjoys bathtime and grooming, and she’ll be your best friend if you share your cheese with her. You might think greyhounds need lots of exercise but they’re actually super lazy! Faith is happiest on quiet walks, away from busy traffic. She could live with another dog and is comfortable around children aged 11 or over.
