We believe that the sofa is at the heart of every home – it’s a place where people can relax and be themselves. So, when Walton-le-Dale school in Preston reached out to us about creating a space that would help their students with their mental wellbeing post-pandemic, we knew we could help

With the aim of opening a new student support centre focusing on behaviour and pastoral care, the school needed cosy places for their students to stay calm, relax and remove barriers with one-to-one care and assistance. We were more than happy to donate to this great cause, giving the school a fabric Cricket sofa, leather Massimo sofa and two Fluted Isla chairs to keep their students and staff comfy.

In a lovely letter we received thanking us for our support, the school said:

“As a school we believe that education is for life and is more than just preparing students for exams. We want our students to leave with the best exam results possible, but we also want them to leave us as well rounded people.

Following the pandemic we, along with many other schools, have seen an increase in the number of students who are experiencing poor mental health, which is having a detrimental effect on their wellbeing.

We approached Sofology to ask for their support in establishing a dedicated space within our school to help empower students to develop their social and emotional skills. We would like to say a huge thank you to Sofology as they have listened to us and now we now have resources to listen to our students and help them to aspire.”
